We’ve noticed a significant increase in the use of precast manholes across nearly every development we’re involved in. The companies supplying these typically issue drawings where each incoming pipe is referenced by its angle relative to the outgoing pipe—i.e. the outgoing is set at 0 degrees, and all incoming pipes are positioned around it clockwise, up to 360 degrees. However, we find they are constantly getting this wrong and we have to make corrections to the incoming pipe degree reference.
With that in mind, would it be possible to incorporate this degree-based reference system into the Manhole Schedule? Ideally, each pipe within a manhole could have a field showing its angle relative to the outgoing. It would then allow us to export the schedule and send it directly to the suppliers for them to complete their drawings from. I have attached a snip from one of these suppliers where you can see their typical output with degree references on the 300mm pipe entering the manhole at 225 degrees.
